Striggio International Album Release

World Premiere recording of the long lost mass by Alessandro Striggio that inspired Tallis’ Spem in Alium.

In the 1560's Striggio worked for the very wealth and notorious Medici Family, composing numerous Intermedi for state occasions, weddings and visits. The medici attracted a lot of attention including that of Michael Angelo, who at the time was exploring the mechanics of human flight.

Celebrating the emergence of human flight became the basis of the album cover. A bird was used to symbolize flight, coupled with Renaissance style artwork to reflect Michael Angelo's flight drawings, which are owned by the Medici and displayed at the Uffizi gallery in Florence.
